The Journey

Motherhood is a journey. It is a gift, a privileged, and an opportunity to grow in ways we never imagined we ever could. To step onto the path of motherhood is to embark on an adventure that will take you into the depths of your being. Along the way, we are challenged, illuminated, humbled, and revered. Unmistakable is a quest for direction, clarity, and comfort as we flow into our days and nights as mother, as women who desire the utmost best for the ones we have brought forth into the world.

So much of what we've been taught about motherhood~what we take from our own childhoods, and what we gather from the ever-present model of society~feels incongruent with who we desire to be as mother. And as we aspire to grow into the ever-better mothers that we know ourselves to be, we reach for a way that will direct us to our truth and highlight our hearts desires, rather than the 'shoulds' that are injected and the doubts and confusion that become stumbling blocks along the way.

Gone, for some time, have been the days where women would gather in tribe and speak the wisdom of the ages. Gone are the comforts of a community that will nurture and support us on our journey. And gone, for so many, are the hopes that they can successfully raise a child in the times of forgotten community and wisdom.

But now is the time to revive the heart of motherhood, the wisdom that lies within, and the cummunity of women who once again come to comfort, honor, and love one another through womanhood, through motherhood, through the journey of life. And as important as forming community, and sharing our collective knowing, is the remembering of our deep, wondrous wisdom.  For as we find our way back to this, to the Inner Way, we move forward in grace. In the moment, we find our way back to ourselves, to our knowing, to our wisdom, to the beauty of ourselves.

Join me on the journey of motherhood, one moment to the next, and we shall uncover the treasures not forgotten, just hidden away in our hearts, that can be excavated again as we shine the light on the blessings that the Now has to offer in our mothering and in our becoming the gift of who we are.
